Drafts and browser storage

Settings and solo or same-device cake drafts are stored in your browser using localStorage and IndexedDB. Drafts can include names and uploaded images. Clearing this site’s browser data removes local saves. Private browsing or storage limits can prevent saving. Online editing progress and room credentials use sessionStorage for refresh recovery in that tab.

Uploaded pictures and GIF search

In solo and same-device play, the editor processes uploaded images in your browser. GIF search sends a query to the site’s search endpoint and its configured search provider; loading an external image also contacts its image host. Those services can receive request information such as your IP address. Use images you have permission to use and avoid uploading sensitive personal information.

Shared cake links

Finished cake links carry the cake data in the URL fragment. That data can include names, image URLs and uploaded image content. Anyone with a copy of the link can view and redistribute it. Closing the editor does not revoke a link or a downloaded picture.

Temporary online rooms

When friend rooms are enabled, the room service temporarily processes nicknames, membership credentials and images submitted by players who finish their cakes. Picks are released to room members at the shared reveal. Rooms use server memory and expire; they are not a permanent cloud backup. The hosting infrastructure may process connection information separately.

Analytics and optional ads

The application includes Vercel Analytics for usage measurement. AdSense publisher verification identifies the site’s advertising account; verification itself does not require displaying an ad. Optional rewarded advertising is kept disabled until the advertising account and applicable consent setup are connected. When available, an ad must be explicitly requested to unlock the advertised extra cake style. The three original cake styles and core editor stay free.

The game’s welcome checkbox is not a substitute for advertising consent. Advertising consent controls and provider disclosures must be configured before live ad serving. Google and Vercel explain their processing in their own policies.
