Hear Me Out Cake with Friends: Party & Multiplayer Guide

Play together on one device

Choose the two-player mode, enter your names and take turns decorating. The first person finishes their turn before handing over the device. Keep the screen to yourself while choosing images so the second player can enjoy the surprise.

After the second player finishes, the curtains reveal both sets of picks on one cake. Save the result as a picture, use the vertical story frame, or copy a link to the finished cake.

How private online rooms work

Private online friend rooms are being tested locally. Public online multiplayer needs a connected room service before it can be enabled. You can already use the two-player mode on one device.

1. The host chooses a cake, creates a room and sends the invitation privately.
2. Friends join with a nickname, read the guest guide and press I’m ready.
3. The host can start only when at least two people are present and every guest is ready. A newly joined guest must confirm readiness too.
4. Everyone decorates their own picks. Other players cannot see those images before the shared reveal.
5. Finish cake sends and locks that player’s picks. When all remaining players are finished, the curtains open automatically.

What does Ready mean?

There are two separate moments. In the lobby, I’m ready tells the host you are ready to start playing; you can withdraw it before the game starts. During decorating, Finish cake submits your completed choices and locks them for the reveal. Joining a room does not automatically mark a guest ready.

Invitations and connection problems

A private room supports two to four people. Treat the invitation like a key: only share it with the friends you want in the room. New people cannot join after the host starts.

Rooms are temporary and last at most one hour. The host leaving closes the room; a service restart also removes rooms. A guest who disconnects in the lobby may need to press I’m ready again after reconnecting. If a room becomes unavailable, the editor offers a way to keep your own cake and continue solo.

Sharing the finished cake

The invite link and the finished cake link do different jobs. An invite lets someone join a room before it starts. A finished cake link lets someone view the completed cake. It does not grant permission to edit your room. Review the images before you share either a public link or a screenshot.
