A LITTLE INSPIRATION

Hear Me Out Cake Ideas for Your Next Reveal

The funniest cake usually has a point of view. Start with a theme that your friends understand, then add a few unexpected picks that give everyone something to talk about.

Six ways to choose your picks

A layout that reads well on a phone

Start with three to five different images and leave space between them. Put a larger focal pick near the top and smaller picks around the sides. Rotate the cake while decorating so that sticks do not all overlap from the front.

For a vertical story, keep the important faces near the centre of the guide. Use clean crops, readable expressions and a mix of image sizes. A busy background can make a character hard to recognise when the story is viewed on a small screen.

Give the reveal a simple rule

Ask each person to explain a pick in one sentence, choose the most surprising selection, or challenge everyone to stay within one fictional universe. Keep the rules playful and easy to understand. There is no need to add scoring or make someone defend a choice they would rather skip.

Use pictures thoughtfully

Choose images you own or have permission to use. Avoid using private photos to embarrass somebody. If a cake link leaves your group, anyone receiving that link may see the pictures included in it. A screenshot or exported story can also be copied and shared again.
